Bavarian Apple Torte

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

My mother has been making this recipe for years and it has always been one of my absolute favorites. Traditional apples tortes will have the apples on top in a fancy, decorative way. You can still do that with this recipe, but throwing all the apples into the filling is much easier, still looks great and tastes just as delicious.

Step 1: Combine butter, vanilla, sugar, flour to make the crust. Press into 9 in springform pan.

Step 2: Beat cream cheese, vanilla, egg, sugar until creamy. In a separate bowl, combine apple, cinnamon and sugar. Pour prepared apples into the cream cheese bowl.

Step 3: Pour filling into springform pan on top of crust.

Step 4: Bake at 450 for 10 minutes then at 400 for 30 minutes. Let cool then release from pan.

Ingredients:

Crust:

1/2 cup softened butter

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup sugar

1 cup flour

Filling:

1 package cream cheese (softened)

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 egg

1/3 cup sugar

2 apples cut into bite-sized pieces

tossed with 1 tsp cinnamon and

1/4 cup sugar

Directions:

Step 1: Combine butter, vanilla, sugar, flour to make the crust. Press into 9 in springform pan.

Step 2: Beat cream cheese, vanilla, egg, sugar until creamy. In a separate bowl, combine apple, cinnamon and sugar. Pour prepared apples into the cream cheese bowl.

Step 3: Pour filling into springform pan on top of crust.

Step 4: Bake at 450 for 10 minutes then at 400 for 30 minutes. Let cool then release from pan.
